Robur the Conqueror is a science fiction novel by Jules Verne firstly published in 1886 and also known as The Clipper of the Clouds. The plot begins with appearance of strange lights and sounds, including blaring trumpet music, reported in the skies all over the world. Strange flags appear on the tops of the biggest mountains and tall buildings. No one knows whose flags and how they are taken there. Turns out that it is a genius inventor Robur secretly built the aircraft heavier than an air resembling a helicopter. Placed these flags he announced the beginning of air space conquest.
